Prologis delivered a 416,412 square foot (38,781 square meter) build-to-suit distribution center at Prologis Apex Park in Daventry to Gardman Ltd, the UK’s leading garden products supplier.
The building will be Gardman’s new national distribution center, serving major retailers and independent garden centers across the country. “Gardman is expanding to meet growing demand for gardening and wild bird care products, so we are relocating our operations from King’s Lynn to Prologis Apex Park,” said Peter Utting, CEO, Gardman. “Daventry is an ideal location for a national distribution network, so we are pleased to have secured this new building.” In addition to new warehouse space, the build-to-suit includes a customer center, enabling Gardman to showcase its entire product range in a single, central location.
The build-to-suit was designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM “Very Good” accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for its size. “We decided to expand Prologis Apex Park because Daventry is a prime logistics location,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK. “We focus on providing the best opportunities in the market for our customers, and we are delighted that we could offer a fully serviced site to accommodate the expansion of Gardman’s business.”
Lambert Smith Hampton, Burbage Realty and JLL acted for Prologis. Gardman was represented by SHB10.
